Advocacy for Women Incarcerated at Joliette Institution aims to maintain an essential legal information, support and education service for incarcerated women and gender-diverse people. The initiative helps individuals understand and defend their rights while fostering their autonomy and preparing them for social reintegration.

Since 1977, the Elizabeth Fry Society of Quebec has supported women and gender-diverse people who are involved with the justice system or at risk of becoming involved. Through its support, rights advocacy and community-based services, the organization works to reduce inequalities and advance social justice and reintegration.
