About

Since 1990, the Béati Foundation has supported citizen initiatives that fight social inequalities, poverty, and systemic oppression throughout Quebec. It supports groups that share a vision of a more just and inclusive world, rooted in solidarity, where the people most affected are at the heart of the changes that impact them.
Through funding, support, and advocacy, we contribute to a profound social and ecological transformation, for justice of all living beings.

To understand who we are and how we operate, we invite you to explore the following pages:

Our Fundamentals

Our mission, our vision, and the guiding principles that direct our actions—ethics, practices, and strategies.

Team and Governance

Discover the people and organization behind the Foundation. A collaborative and committed governance that includes our team, our Board of Directors, and various committees.

Positionality

We recognize that we speak from a particular position: that of a foundation established through an anonymous donation, located on colonized land. This page begins with a land acknowledgment and presents our critical reflections on our role, our privileges, and our limitations.

Commitments

Financial support is not enough. We also act through guidance, strategic monitoring, and public statements, in solidarity with the groups we support and in collaboration with other actors in the philanthropic sector and social movements.

Accountability

Transparency, accountability, and continuous self-evaluation are at the heart of our practice. Here you will find our reports, assessments, and self-evaluations, with a constant focus on learning and improvement.
